Artwork Passport
The Artwork Passport is the identification document of a single artwork. It records the author, title, date, medium, dimensions, signature, identifying marks and a detailed description of the work, together with photographs and a unique registry number. The owner is not named in the passport, and the document therefore remains unchanged when the artwork changes ownership.
The Passport does not replace a Certificate of Authenticity. It supplements it with a detailed record of the work itself. It is presented to document the characteristics of the artwork in connection with a sale, insurance, exhibition loan, inheritance or expert examination.
The passport is issued in two forms. The original is printed on archival paper, embossed with the seal of Artefactum Art Registry and signed, and is sent to the client’s address to remain with the artwork. A digital copy is kept permanently in the Artefactum Art Registry archive, where the record of the artwork is also accessible by QR code, and remains available for download. The document confirms that the artwork was registered personally by its author, whose identity has been verified by Artefactum Art Registry, or, in the case of Old Masters, on the basis of a Certificate of Authenticity.
Delivery is free in Europe and 15 € to other countries.

Authorship Declaration
The Authorship Declaration is a document in which an artist declares authorship of an artwork being registered. The identity of the artist is verified by Artefactum Art Registry, and the declaration is recorded in the archive under a unique registry number. The document establishes the artist’s authorship and serves as a written basis in the event of disputes, as well as in cases of copies, forgeries and plagiarism.
The declaration is presented when the artwork is sold, passed to a gallery or exhibition, referred to a lawyer or expert, and in defence of the artist’s rights. It does not replace expert examination and does not in itself confirm the authenticity of the artwork. It records the declaration made personally by the artist.
The declaration is issued to living artists only and is intended to protect the artist. The original is printed on archival paper, embossed with the seal of Artefactum Art Registry and always remains with the artist. Only a duplicate, ordered separately, is passed to the buyer together with the artwork. A digital copy is kept permanently in the archive, and the buyer receives access to its online version.
Delivery is free in Europe and 15 € to other countries.

Ownership Record
The Ownership Record is a separate document recording who owns an artwork on a given date. It states the artwork details and the details of the owner. The record is entered into the Artefactum Art Registry archive under a unique registry number.
The Ownership Record is issued on the basis of documents confirming the transfer of ownership, such as a sales contract, an invoice, a deed of gift or proof of inheritance, and that document is attached to the record. It records the fact of ownership and does not concern the authenticity of the artwork. When ownership changes, a new Ownership Record is issued, and earlier records remain in the history of the artwork. The document is presented when the artwork is sold, insured, lent to an exhibition or pledged, and in matters of inheritance.
The original is printed on archival paper, embossed with the seal of Artefactum Art Registry and remains with the owner. A digital copy is kept permanently in the archive and remains available for download. A duplicate can be ordered separately.
Delivery is free in Europe and 15 € to other countries.

Duplicate and Reissue
A duplicate can be issued for any document recorded in the Artefactum Art Registry archive. It is issued when the original is lost or damaged, and when the details in the record change, for example after a change of surname. The duplicate is printed on archival paper with the embossed seal of Artefactum Art Registry and marked “Duplicate”. The original record in the archive is preserved, and updated where the details have changed.
A duplicate is issued only to the current holder of the document. For documents of the artist this is the artist, and for all other documents the current owner of the artwork whose identity has been verified. The price of a duplicate of any document is equal to the price of the document itself. Errors made by Artefactum Art Registry are corrected free of charge.
Delivery is free in Europe and 15 € to other countries.

Registration Record
The Registration Record is an online confirmation that an artwork has been entered into the Artefactum Art Registry archive. The record states the main details of the artwork, and the artwork is assigned a unique registry number. The document exists in electronic form only and is available for download as a PDF. No printed document is issued.
A registered artwork can be used in the personal account of an artist or collector. Information can be added to it, its provenance can be supplemented and documentation can be attached.
When an Artwork Passport is subsequently ordered, the cost of registration in the archive is deducted from the cost of the Artwork Passport.

Exhibition Record
The Exhibition Record is a document confirming that an artwork was shown at an exhibition. It states the name and place of the exhibition, the dates, the artworks shown and the organiser. The document is issued by Artefactum Art Registry as a curatorial company on the basis of photographs, gallery records and other materials confirming that the exhibition took place.
The Exhibition Record is presented when compiling an artist’s biography, preparing a catalogue, selling an artwork, and in valuation and expert review, where the exhibition history of the artwork matters. The document can be obtained independently of the registration of the artwork in the archive.
The document is issued as a PDF with a seal and signature. On request it can also be sent to a specified address.

Sale Documentation Review
Sale Documentation Review is a professional review of the documentation set for an artwork in connection with its sale. The review can be carried out for the seller or for the buyer. It concerns the documentation and is not an expert examination of the authenticity of the artwork. The price is determined individually, depending on the amount of work.

Provenance Research
Provenance Research is a study of the complete history of an artwork, from the moment of its creation to its current owner. The work traces every transfer of ownership and every exhibition the artwork has been part of. Registrations, archives, catalogues, publications, exhibition and auction records and the documents of previous owners are examined. All documented facts connected with the artwork are brought together into a single history.
The result is a written report in which the information found is organised, the sources are named and gaps in the history are noted. The report is presented when the artwork is sold, insured, transferred to a museum or collection, and before a purchase. The transparency and completeness of provenance directly shape the value of an artwork.
The price of the service depends on the amount of work carried out.
